Family Life

At Word of Life Baptist Church, we believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society, including the church. The Family Life Ministry Team provides pre-marital and post-marital counseling for couples, marriage and wedding planning, and handles marriage and family life issues involving church members.

REV. CHARLES OWUSUPASTOR
Rev. Charles Owusu has served as pastor of Word of Life Baptist Church since its inception in 2010. A licensed and ordained minister of the Gospel, Rev. Owusu has served in ministry for over 20 years. He holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Ghana, as well as Master of Divinity and Master of Theology degrees from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at NOBTS. Prior to his call into ministry, Rev. Owusu worked in the corporate world as a research and marketing specialist. He studied at the International Finance & Commodities Institute in Geneva, Switzerland, Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS, the National University of Singapore, and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration.
Rev. Owusu is passionate about preaching and teaching God’s Word because it has power to change lives. He believes that the church exists to make disciples, and is therefore actively engaged in planting churches where people can be taught God’s Word to transform them into committed followers of Christ who make other disciples. He also serves as an adjunct faculty at NOBTS, teaching Spiritual Formation and Discipleship courses at the graduate level, as well as Pastoral Ministries, Biblical Studies, History and Theology, and Christian Education courses at the undergraduate level.
Rev. Owusu is married to Lady Valentina, and they have been blessed with two daughters, Julia and Priscilla, and a son, David. When he is not teaching, preaching, or planting churches, Rev. Owusu loves to watch soccer and basketball, reading, and listening to inspiring music.
